THE UNTITLED KUSAMA PROJECT

What is it like to belong in an infinite universe?

IMG_4960.HEIC

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The KUSAMA Project is a bold and evocative song cycle inspired by the life and work of Yayoi Kusama, exploring themes of isolation, identity, and cosmic acceptance through the lens of two immigrant artists. Created by Japanese composer Yuriko Shibata and queer Australian writer Andrew Strano, the piece blends music, storytelling, and immersive performance to engage with the vastness of infinity — and the deeply personal experience of feeling “small” in a seemingly overwhelming universe.
